Why it's special
Fairways run out along narrow ridges that fall away 140 metres to the sea. Few courses anywhere feel this exposed, and fewer still make the drama playable. It sits above the Cape Kidnappers gannet colony, in the middle of Hawke's Bay wine country.
Visiting
- ·Tee times are limited and lodge guests are prioritised — book well ahead, especially December to March.
- ·Caddies and carts are arranged through the golf shop.
- ·Weather off the Pacific changes the course completely; allow a flexible morning.
Hole counts are stated where they are stable and verifiable. Par, course rating, tee-time policy and green fees change — confirm them with the course before you travel.
